Sam Doecke – Leading Hand, Waikerie Division
Born at Waikerie and grew up at Blanchetown on his parents fruit block. Later they moved to Sunlands and now Sam is a resident of Waikerie. After completing Year 12 at Waikerie High School Sam applied for an Electrical Apprenticeship at Hansen Electric and completed with ease in March 2015.
Sam continues to have enthusiasm and passion for his work with further study completing Cert III in Telecommunications Cabling May 2015. In May Sam was acknowledged with becoming Leading Hand after Keith Curtis resign from the Waikerie Division who also provide a good role model for Sam. Little encouragement was needed to take on further study Cert IV in Leadship and Management working towards his supervisor licence and working with David Neindorf. Sam's role includes customer liaison, quoting of small jobs and a team leader. Sam was selected as a finalist in the Rotary Club of Berri Riverland & Mallee Apprentice of the Year Awards 2018.

Sam has remained committed to keeping up with the changes in our industry and is working towards his future

Sam is community minded and is involved with many leadership roles at Waikerie Lutheran Church with Youth, Administration and Organist. Sam also played football for and currently plays and supports the Waikerie Basketball Club, he is also a talented musician.

Daniel Schmidt Apprentice 4th year, recently completing his capstone and will qualify.
Jess Oakley-Thorne 1st year Dual trade apprentice in Electrical, air conditioning and Refrigeration

Lachlan qualified in his trade of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic in February 2021. March 2021 he entered his Electrical Apprenticeship. He has completed necessary short courses to meet W.H.&S requirements for the industry.
Lachlan's interests being outdoors fishing, camping, working on cars and chilling with his mates.
