OUR HISTORY
In 1988, David began work with Hansen Electric.
At that time, Richard & Dianne Hansen ran a small contracting business from a shed at the rear of their house in Peake Terrace. A little while later they purchased the old Telecom Depot as their first specialised workshop and offices. Richard & Dianne later went on to build a purpose built workshop and offices in the industrial area of Waikerie in 2000.
David gained his Electrical Contractor’s License and took on the role as Supervisor.
David worked with Richard & Dianne for nearly 20 years before Richard’s passing from Mesothelioma in January 2007.
David purchased the business in December 2007 and has continued with the similar style of work with a broad range of work that is typical of country contractors working on smaller domestic jobs through to large commercial projects. With the purchase of the business it brought changes to Sandy as well and while still working for the Barmera Kindergarten 2 days per week, Sandy began work in an administration role 3 days per week at Hansen Electric.
David was honoured to be nominated in 2008 and won The Riverland West Business and Tourism Richard Hansen Memorial “Excellence In Trades, Servicing and Repairs" Award.
At the end of 2009 with the administration role at Hansen Electric becoming more demanding a choice was made for Sandy to finish her role at Barmera Kindergarten and become fully involved with the administration of Hansen Electric at which time Sandy studied Cert III in Financial Services.
